Poverty leaves an impact on the brain. This happens especially if a person has spent his life as a young fellow in poverty. If in the young stage of life when a person is in the developing stage, is spent in poverty, then the brain works accordingly. It is the brain that helps us gain maturity as we age, and it helps us to think and plan for the future. The part of the brain that is just behind the forehead, does not get time to be used while leading a life in poverty, so it seems that this brain often tends to sleep rather than work on any issue. Leading a life of poverty makes an individual impulsive which is not to think and act but just take an action without thinking about the action. The book “Savage Inequalities: Children in America's Schools” written by Jonathan Kozol, mentions the inequalities faced by the rich and poor in education institutions. He mentions that the poor schools were overcrowded and underprivileged even though they were the ones who paid the maximum amount of tax. In the book “Just Mercy” by Bryan Stevenson, he pointed out the indifferent judicial system of the United States. He mentioned the indifferent and rude behavior towards the women, the minor people, and, the blacks. He tried to take the initiative for them to provide them equality and to stop the injustices that took place against them. The book “The New Jim Crow” by Michelle Alexander mentions the criminal justice of the U.S. It says that there is racial discrimination in the judicial system. Even when Barrack Obama being black is holding a post, racial and caste discrimination continues. Still, blacks are aimed at by the War on Drugs and color.
