This discussion focuses on the Beatitudes, or Matthew 5:3–12 verses. These passages were my choice because they convey important facts about the moral principles and dispositions that Christians need to adopt on a daily basis. Every beatitude highlights a certain quality that Christians need to exhibit, such as kindness, humility, and making peace. Because they provide a model for how Christian’s ought to behave in the world, I think the Beatitudes are very important to Christianity today. Christians are challenged by the Beatitudes to place a higher priority on virtues like humility, righteousness, and purity of heart in a culture that often prizes riches, power, and success. In a world in dire need of healing, compassion, and hope, Christians may shine by modelling the virtues outlined in the Beatitudes (Brown, 1997, p73). A rich tapestry of spiritual truths, the Beatitudes can be found in Matthew 5:3-12. They provide vital insight and advise for living a Christian life. The Beatitudes may be found in the Bible. No question in my mind that your analysis of these passages would be both thought-provoking and helpful; I have no doubt about that.
