Make an outline of her speech and notice now each paragraph builds her argument toward a sound and inevitable conclusion. Susan B. Anthony's speech Are Women Persons?" is structured as a deductive argument. She begins by referencing the U.S. Constitution, confirming that We, the people" includes women (Mayfield, 2014, p. 348). She then challenges the exclusion of women from voting, arguing that it contradicts the Constitution. Each paragraph logically flows toward the conclusion that women as, citizens are entitled to the same rights as men. B) Why does her argument center on the definition of the word person ? Anthony focuses on the definition of person" because it is essential to her argument.
