Question.4524 - How do you interact with animals?Take at least 1 day this week and log all your interactions with animals - as food, companionship, pleasure, clothing, service, amusement, work, or neural entities. The log sheet hereActions might be useful! Review what you document and in this discussion thread share one or two interactions you had that you hadn't thought about before or that you think may be unusual.Remember that we are building an open and honest community for reflection and that many of our interactions with animals are incidental and socialized (i.e., are not intentional/conscious). Further, we will all have different backgrounds and perspectives on what healthy interactions may look like. Please be curious about your own interactions and those of your classmates. For example: I have a flock of backyard chickens but a juvenile black bear has been predating birds from neighborhood coops. To protect my laying hens, which are pets of a type but also provide my family with eggs, I spent my morning spraying the exterior of the coop with hot pepper as a deterrent to the bear. My actions are driven by self interests (desire for eggs), attachment to my hens, and the justification that deterring the bear may push him away from houses/people to ensure his own safety. However, I am also afraid of the bear (whom I've come upon on an early morning run).
