Discussion Module 3 My research is looking into how teens' use of social media affects their mental health. My main research question is, "How does teens' use of social media affect their mental health?" To answer this question, I expect to work with different types of facts necessary for a complete understanding of the problem. Survey Questionnaires - I will use questionnaires to get quantitative data about how often and how teens use social media. This information will help me determine how often and how often they interact with these sites (Pandey & Pandey, 2021). Data from Interviews- I'll interview teens to learn more about their situations. This qualitative data will give us stories about how they felt, what they did, and how they thought social media affected their mental health. Psychological Tests: I will use routine psychological tests to check for mental health problems like anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. These tests will give objective information about the mental health of the subjects. Content Analysis: It is imperative to look at what teens post on social media. This information could be text, pictures, or videos. Finding common themes, triggers, and expressions in content analysis tied to mental health is essential (Paul & Criado, 2020). Demographic Data: It's essential to get demographic data like age, gender, level of schooling, and socioeconomic background. This information will help determine how social media might affect mental health differently for different groups (Valkenburg et al., 2022). Discussion Module 4 A literature review is one of the most essential parts of any research proposal for several important reasons: Contextualizing the Research- The literature review sets the scene for the suggested research. This section shows how the study fits into what is already known and points out any gaps in that knowledge. This is very important to show why the study is essential and relevant. Defining Research Questions- Looking at previous research helps you develop straightforward research questions. By looking at previous research, you can find unresolved problems, controversies, or areas that need more study. This can help you decide what to focus on in your research (Kraus et al., 2023). Methodological guidance- The literature study helps pick the best research methods. It gives information about the ideas and techniques used in previous research, showing what has worked and what hasn't. Framework for the Theory- It helps build a framework for the theory behind the study. The review helps choose theories or models critical to the research and can be used, giving the idea a strong base (Snyder, 2019). Finding Key Factors- Reading the research can help find essential factors and ideas to consider. This helps with planning the study and coming up with the proper steps. Citing Reliable Sources: Using reliable sources from the literature makes the plan more credible. In other words, it shows that the study is based on well-known facts (Mukherjee, 2019). Ethical Considerations: The literature study helps determine any moral concerns or problems arising during the research. This makes sure that the survey is done honestly and responsibly.
