The Big Five personality test was an eye opener for me as it revealed some crucial insights about my personality and how it is going to impact me as a leader. The test results revealed some of the most crucial personality traits that I possess and also helped me assess which roles will suit me the best. The test revealed my score in the five major dimensions of human personality namely Open-Mindedness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Negative Emotionality. I scored the highest in the extraversion trait and asserted me to be a person who is highly sociable, extrovert and great in communication skills. The other traits where I scored high were conscientious trait as I am very organized in my life and self-disciplined when it comes to follow my daily routine and responsibilities. The test results also mentioned me to be an agreeable person as I find it very easy to forgive someone and am great at empathizing with people and sympathize with those who come from the lower strata of the society. I agree with the test results as the traits mentioned in the test results coordinates with my personality traits and my past experiences. I find it very easy to get along with people as I seldom harbour any negative feeling for anyone, and forgive people too easily. I don’t harbour any negative feeling or feel any anxiety when facing any challenging situations. I am secured in whatever situation I am in and seldom worry about any future uncertainties. Similarly, I am also very organised and diligent in whatever work I do and ensure that the task is completed as intended. However, the one personality trait wherein I hope to improve is that of the open-mindedness. The result revealed that I am conventional and conservative in my conduct. I prefer the usual routine in my daily life and do not favour any new experiences. I have a narrow range on interests and am happy with the same old routine in life. However, this is one aspect of my personality that I wish to change. I believe that change is the essence of life and it is crucial for growth in career and personal life. Hence, I wish to embrace change and new experiences that will help to develop diverse perspectives towards life. To improve on this trait I need to become more receptive towards change and consider a opposite viewpoint while making any decisions. Additionally, being aware of one’s own biases also tend to challenge them and lead to embrace open-minded thinking. Last but not the least, being generous in interpreting other intentions and not doubting them will lead to becoming open-minded in one’s approach to life. Being open-minded benefits in accepting diverse mindsets as well self-reflecting one’s own thoughts, beliefs and approaches. I believe that being an extrovert personality, those jobs will suit me better wherein I have to deal with people and communicate with the general public.
