Considering the participatory approach employed in the example research discussed above  has the practice of employing people of a particular group that are impacted by a particular inquiry in the design and execution of the process in order to reflect their diversity and variations in culture, priorities, and concern  with the primary notion of utilizing this approach in an academic setting, that involves collaborators  with the objective to expand the knowledge in a scholarly or professorial field in order to study and change a particular community or a target population in order to shape the design of a new initiative that local participants drive (McIntyre, 2007). While on the other hand, considering practical action research gives more emphasis to the approach in which the research is conducted and the way in which it is designed to address.
