A factory should always be kept neat and clean for better productivity. It also helps in building good environment for workers, meeting deadlines, and completing work without defects in it. Concept of 5S in factory – Sort – It means to remove all unwanted items from factory premises. Straighten – Now when unwanted items are removed, order the remaining items at right place so that they are easy to find and use. Sweep – Also known as shine is referred to cleanliness of floors and machinery and make factory neat and clean place. Standardise – Properly maintain the results of first 3S and keep check and control on it. Sustain – It defined accepting 5S and keep working according to it.
