The organization has quickly realized this business model might continue once the pandemic ends but wants to develop training for new and current employees in dealing with the stressors, cultural and communication issues, and best practices when working remotely. As the Senior Corporate Trainer for your organization, you have been asked to lead this training initiative. Discuss what key elements you envision being in this training plan and the areas of importance that you would cover.

Answer Below:

Introduction In a toxic work environment it is very difficult to be fulfilled and effective. It can impact the health, personal and self-esteem of individuals. Therefore, this makes it difficult for team members to feel safe in the workplace. Since the employees contribute the majority of time in the workplace, it is equally important for them to feel happy and satisfied in the workplace. The paper provides a brief solution to manage toxic environments in the workplace and the actionable steps that can be taken to prevent the situation from escalating further.  In this case study, engineers from Latin America and only female employees face difficulties in the work environment. It is crucial to take action in a toxic work environment; here are a few actionable steps that I would probably take to manage this issue-  Clear Communication  I would communicate with the people involved in this issue: the female colleague facing gender reassignment, the African Engineers and the Engineers from Latin America. This private meeting will ensure an understanding of the different perspectives of the individuals.  The overall development of the organization is highly impacted by the clear and effective communication (Kegeyan, 2016). It is crucial to know each person's concerns and understand that no misunderstanding is involved. Further, I will inform the team members and discuss the non-negotiable terms and conditions for working as a team. Reminding the team members that any nuisance and disrespect to any team member won't be tolerated.  Raising Awareness  The next step is to ensure that the team members are aware of the cultural sensitivity and understand the importance of respect and inclusion among the team. I would further collaborate with the human resource department to ensure mandatory training about inclusion, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.  This will ensure that the team members can understand how to behave in a certain way to others. A mandatory training on fostering cultural sensitivity in a workplace will help to focus on understanding the importance of diverse perspectives.  Managing Microaggressions and unhealthy biases It is vital to prevent a toxic work environment in a workplace as it can hamper the integrity of an organization.  Team members can feel psychologically unsafe, due to which there is always a general feeling of unhealthy competition, negativity and aggression.  Microaggression can significantly create a hostile environment for the learners in the workplace(Miller, & Chen, 2021). Since the team consists of members from around the globe and lacks female colleagues in the workforce. It is important to identify the unhealthy traits in the toxic work environment, as it can lead to unproductivity and lack of work-life balance.  Clear Policies Against Discrimination I would collaborate with the Human Resources department of the organization to ensure that clear policies are established and the team members are aware of the company values. These policies will ensure that any kind of discriminatory activity won't be tolerated in the organization. The policies related to the human resource can attract negative perceptions, opinions and feelings in an organization that are not motivated to reduce discrimination in their system (Vasconcelos, 2015). The guidelines are important as they will help the team members feel safe without the fear of microaggression and discriminatory behavior of any kind.  Impact of Culture in the Work Environment Work culture plays an important role in inspiring employees and ensuring positive and productive work. A great company with a good work culture attracts qualified resources from different parts of the world. It also impacts the recruiting efforts, sales and employee morale, whether negatively or positively.  I have learned that practicing a positive culture in the company could have impacted these actions in a different way.  Impact on the overall success and happiness of the employee-  Maintaining a great company culture can ensure that employees are happy and satisfied in their jobs. Even if they are facing some kind of bias and aggression in the workplace, they are not scared of speaking and raising their voices. A positive work culture can be extremely helpful for employees who are new to a country and are facing challenges in the work environment.  Research shows that there is a  relationship between productivity and positive affect (Bellet et al., 2024). People are much more interested in working for a company that promotes employee development, a positive work culture, and flexibility. Therefore, improving overall employee satisfaction through a supportive and strong culture will help the employees remain loyal to the company.  Ensure high employee engagement  A strong culture is a crucial entity in ensuring high engagement within the employees. There are different indicators of employee engagement, such as safety. Companies that value the safety of their employees ensure that they are safe by ingrained the culture. They understand that feeling safe is one of the psychological needs of people and only if they feel good about themselves, will they be able to perform in their respective areas of expertise.  Another factor is Communication, the company where strong culture is practiced, the different ideas and opinions of the employees are welcome. In this case, where the latin employee and the female employee are facing issues regarding toxic work culture. If they are in a company where high values are practiced, they don't carry any kind of resentment and feel heard.  Conclusion  The paper concludes the solution that is taken to resolve the toxic work environment faced by some employees in the organization. Therefore, managing a toxic work environment is crucial for the employees to feel valued, safe and respected. By implementing various strategies, companies can emphasize culture sensitivity, inclusion and diversity.    References Kegeyan, S. E. (2016).
