Question.465 - Topic 3 DQ 2 How does the fall relate to tragedies like 9/11, disasters such as the Tsunami of 2004 (an earthquake caused a tsunami that killed over 225,000 people), and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020? Based on the topic Resources, how would you explain how a good, loving, and all-powerful God allows suffering and evil in his creation? Explain how your reaction to evil events has caused you to reassess your worldview.

Answer Below:

According to the resources that we are using in this class, Adam and Eves actions affected the relationship between God and humans. As a consequence of this, humans became mortal and started suffering from a variety of illnesses. Resources state that this is all because of the sins of humans. So, I believe everything happens for a reason. I do not think God has anything to do with this because according to the bible, God created this universe for humans and introduced love, compassion, care, etc. Then how will he make his own children suffer? As it is good in the universe there is definitely bad exists on the other end of the universe and against god. But this bad works as per the actions of human beings or any other living beings on the earth. That is what we call Karma. In other words, what we are facing today is the direct consequence of what we have done in the past, whether it is an earthquake, virus spread, tsunami, or anything. Well, as I said above, no matter what human beings do, God still tries to teach human beings and make them better-living beings but all the sufferings are the consequences of humans actions. But who decides which is good and which is bad and who makes humans suffer definitely their own karmas. I believe in higher energy more than I consider it as God. To balance nature there is good (positive energy) and bad (negative energy). I believe both are two sides of a coin where negative energy just functions as per the actions that occur in the universe. To conclude, I would like to say, suffering or living a healthy life in all aspects is the consequence of our own actions.
