Finding Your Purpose Name: Course: Christian Worldview Date: Instructor: Be sure you respond to all five prompts and include all the sources you cite on a reference section at the end of this document. Consider how what you have learned throughout the course will impact your future. Explain how to find your purpose by answering the following questions. Include citations and references from the topic Resources. Summarize the concept of missio Dei (missional purpose). Your answer in 100-150 words: Missio Dei?is translated as the mission of God. It is a significant concept that explains the importance of the mission of the Church. God is referred as the creator of the universe. After creating the earth, he created humans (in his image) on the earth and instilled some of his personality traits like love, cognitive power, compassion, care, faith, ability to make his own decisions etc (Anderson et.al., u.d.). With all these gifts. God gave humans individual purposes and that was to take care of the universe he created. He gave a variety of power to them so that each of them could support and help each others in serving this world. Hence, according to the Christian Worldview, purpose comes from God and his plans. Summarize Buechner's concept of finding your purpose and explain how this aligns with the way you live out your worldview (missional purpose). Your answer in 100-150 words: Buechner's concept of finding our purpose defines the actions (which we commit as a way to fulfill our purpose) that should meet the needs of the world and bring satisfaction or gladness to us. Buechner suggests that people should evaluate our purpose to clarify that the purpose we are following is also God's wish or purpose given to us. He doesn't call it to purpose until and unless it is helping the world and making the person happy as a result. He meant, that if a person is doing something, then he/she should be passionate and proud about it and that should be helping the world is growing. I will be joining the emergency management sector once I finish my studies which were my aim helping people. I am sure that I will be definitely glad to save as many lives as I can and I hope that is the purpose assigned to me by God. Reflect on your beliefs about origins (creational purpose) and describe how those beliefs contribute to your understanding of human purpose. Your answer in 100-150 words: To begin with, instead of calling God, I call it higher energy. Whatever it is introduced in the universe, even though it is scientific fact that it comes from that higher power. So I believe that the universe was created in the same way. Each element creates in the universe has its own purpose, whether it is lifeless or has life. For instance, the purpose of trees and plants is to provide food, the purpose of sun and water is to give light and to remove thirstiness. Hence each creative has its individual purposes, so do I. I believe my purpose as a human being is to help people around me, make them feel valued, and help them fulfill their purpose in life while keeping our values, potential, and happiness. Describe how Jesus's statement of overarching purpose in the commandment to love God and love others as ourselves can be lived in and out of the workplace. Your answer in 100-150 words: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself Luke (10:27) writes, You shall love the Lord with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbors as yourself (Anderson et.al., u.d.). This is such a great statement made by Luke, which reminds us that there is a power above us and the nature of human beings. According to him, God is the creation of admiration and so we should admire him. When we love him, that empowers we, human beings, to love and care for others. Understanding human values and the importance of human existence and valuing the same as we value our own selves requires a broad perspective. Hence, when we love God and have faith in him, we absorb that knowledge and understanding of caring for others (our neighbors). Describe how your future career can be an opportunity to help others flourish, to be purposeful, and to do no harm. Your answer in 100-150 words: My goal is to work in Homeland Security/Emergency Management. Helping, supporting, and loving each other is the significant purpose of humans and it is the significant lesson taught by Jesus Christ in the Bible. I have always liked to find a way to help people or at least those who are around me and I have found the purpose of my life and role to contribute something to this society. I am a very quiet person and I even think before replying or talking to people. My aim is not to hurt anyone with my words or actions. Still, I am human and mistakes happen due to the circumstances we come across. Thinking and acting unnecessarily creates a space to hurt others (sometimes), but even if we keep quiet, that is also not good for us or others sometimes. So, the only way is to be conscious about what we do and focus on what we are contributing to the world. References: Anderson et al., (u.d.).
