Answer Below:

Origins Name: Course: Christian Worldview Date: Instructor: Be sure you answer Part One, Part Two, Part Three, and the Reference section of this assignment before submitting. Part One: Christian Beliefs In a total of 250-350 words for this section (1-4), respond thoroughly to the prompt in the assignment. Use the Bible and at least one academic source (textbook, topic overview, or peer-reviewed article). Cite all of the resources used with in-text citations. Include all the sources you cite on a reference section at the end of this document. Summary of Christian beliefs about origins: According to Christians, God is the reason for the origin of the universe and the lives that exist on the earth. What Christians believe about origins is basically a fundamentalist approach. They believe the concept of this universe creation has exactly occurred as it is depicted in the bible. Such belief is referred as creationism. Also, as it has portrayed in the bible, God is the eternal being who has the extremely high power and has incorporated love, compassion, faith in him is the only one who has the power to create such an elegant universe with such diverse living beings and nature. Summary of Genesis 1-2: Genesis 1-2 explains Gods process of creating this universe. It took seven days for God to create the complete universe with life in it. Heaven and hell are part of this creation as well. God created human beings and gave them more power compared to any other lives on earth and made them take control of the earth and Adam and Eve were the first human beings of his creation. Summary of general and special revelation: General and special revelation are basically two contrasting concepts. These are two ways of God how he has represented himself to human beings. General revelation is nothing but the understanding of God and the general characteristics he perceives through the nature he has created. Special revelation is knowing God through supernatural factors. According to general revelation, the Gods power can be visible through understanding the universe. Jesus in human form is considered as the ultimate way of special revelation which did miracles to help people. Summary of three Christian approaches: Three Christian Approaches to Creation are young earth creationism, old earth creationism, and theistic evolution. All three approaches believe that God is the creator of the universe but each gives different views on the time taken by God to create the universe. In young earth creationism's view, it took 6 days, in old earth creationism and theistic evolution's view, it took billions of years for God to create the universe. Part Two: Current Understanding In a total of 250-350 words for this section (1-4), respond thoroughly to the prompt in the assignment. Use the Bible and at least one academic source (textbook, topic overview, or peer-reviewed article). Cite all of the resources used with in-text citations. Include all the sources you cite on a reference section at the end of this document. My current beliefs about the origin of the universe: I believe rather than calling it God, I refer it as higher energy which is actually beyond our understanding and has no form, color, shape, etc and this energy exists in each element of the universe as it is the one who created this. Creating such a big and complex universe is not possible for one person and the energy has divided and spread, creating the whole universe with its parts. This belief is kind of similar to pantheism which equates God with the universe and the universe with God (DiVincenzo, 2014). My current beliefs about evolution: As I believe in more logical evidence, I think the universe did not create in a single day or a year. I mean, it took thousands of years to prepare each element that exists today, like water, light, insects, animals, wind, darkness, etc. Hence it is a natural process (PRC, 2013). So, the present existence of human beings and what we have is all the result of the iteration process called evolution. My current beliefs about the age of the earth: In my opinion, each element that exists in this universe has its own time period like we human beings have, whether it is a living thing or a non-living thing. In the same vein, the earth is also getting old since the time of its creation. Today, the earth is many billion years old and it reaches its end phase as well one day. My current beliefs about if the Bible and science can be reconciled: Bible and science are incompatible when it comes to explaining or giving evidence to the creation of the universe. Bible's explanations depend on subjective beliefs, while science provides logical evidence for the universe's creation. Both disagree with each of their interpretations. In my opinion, science and the bible cannot be reconciled as their evaluation methods are totally contrasting. Part Three: Impact of Current Understanding In a total of 250-350 words for this section (1-4), respond thoroughly to the prompt in the assignment. Use the Bible and at least one academic source (textbook, topic overview, or peer-reviewed article). Cite all of the resources used with in-text citations. Include all the sources you cite on a reference section at the end of this document. Therefore, this is what I believe about the nature of God: There is a pattern for non-living and living beings like birth and death. The concept of time still cannot be understood, like why it cant be stopped, which I believe is beyond our understanding. The more research is going on the human bodys biological structure, the more things are being invented. Seeing all these unsure and complex things makes us think about who created all these things? or how they came into existence? Therefore, this is what I believe about the nature of Humanity: The main aspect of humanity being created in the image of God is that they are entrusted to rule the earth as both priestly and kingly figures (DiVincenzo, 2014). The nature of humanity is very different and superior compared to other animals, birds or insects. Some cultures believe that God exists in every human being or the things that exist in nature, as said in pantheism. For instance, a human being is filled with love, kindness, loyalty, trust, creativity, power, high thinking ability, etc. There is a difference between human beings and animals and that gives more credibility to human beings. Some believe this human body is just flesh and some think it is a physical body with an immortal soul in it. Therefore, this is what I believe about the care for the Earth: In my opinion, the earth is like a God or mother who is taking care of each element that exists on it by providing all the required resources to live. Especially for human beings, it has supported to develop from ancient ages to this modern era which involves multiple modifications and developments. Without the support of the earth, none of us could have survived till today because it has the things that we need to live. So taking care of the earth is necessary if we human beings need to survive for more days or years or decades. Again, taking care of the earth has become more critical as it is getting damaged due to human activities and if this continues, the earth will age soon and we all also see our ends too.
