Question.1021 - Now that you have seen the utility of Chi Square through Crosstabs in SPSS, how do you think you might use it in the future. Specify possible situations. Explain limitations of such analysis compared to the t-test and ANOVA.
Answer Below:
Crosstab analysis is critical in the future. I can use the Chi-square test through crosstabs in SPSS in the future. For instance, we can find the relationship between income and the level of education. Lower the level of education and lower will be the income and higher education and higher will be the income. Income will be considered a categorical variable, and education will be a continuous variable. We can also use crosstabs to compare the distribution of categorical variables, ethnicity, across different income levels. The limitation of the Chi-square test through Crosstabs is that it is only appropriate for categorical variables (Verma, 2013). We will use a t-test or Anova if we have continuous variables in our dataset. Also, the Chi-square test is very sensitive to sample size. It can even be statistically significant and shows a weak relationship if the sample size is large. Hence, we must carefully interpret the results using the chi-square test. References Verma, J.
