I thoroughly enjoyed the semester, and it was a great learning. Chapters 7 to 10 were quite advanced and included all the tests. In Chapter 7, I learned about the difference between one-sample t-tests and two-sample t-tests. It was quite challenging to figure out the differences. Through thorough learning and practice, it made it relatively easy. One-sample tests compare the sample data to a known or hypothesized population parameter. On the other hand, two-sample tests contrast the means of two distinct, unrelated groups. The independent samples t-test is a popular two-sample test for determining?if there is a significant difference between the means of two independent samples. I became familiar with the chi-square test in Chapter 8. The relationship between variables at the nominal or ordinal level can be determined using the chi-square test. It does not involve negative values. Chapter 9 discusses the ANOVA. It is a statistical technique for comparing means to multiple groups. Finally, Chapter 10 discusses about correlation and regression. Whereas regression forecasts the outcome between the two variables, correlation establishes the direction and strength of the relationship between the?two variables. Regression involves?two types: multiple regression analysis and bivariate regression analysis. To determine this, I have used correlation and regression tests. In the initial step, we state our hypothesis.?? Null Hypothesis:?There is no significant relationship between poverty and crime. Alternative Hypothesis:?There is a significant relationship between poverty and crime. I will collect data on poverty and crime rates in different neighborhoods across the city. If the results range between - 1 and +1, then there is a significant positive correlation, which suggests that the crime rate increases as the poverty level increases.
