Question.293 - You will accomplish several tasks with this assignment, and your paper should be structured to include 4 parts: Give some thought to what area is a potential of interest to you, based on your personal professional experience and the current research literature. Explain why you are interested in this topic and/or research problem, how it relates to your field of practice or career, and how this topic and/or research problem can be explored by way of qualitative design. (1 page) Select a design that is aligned with the topic and/or research problem as described above, so that there is a good “fit” between them. Explain why this design was selected as appropriate for the topic/research problem, and describe in detail how you will implement this research design. (1 page) Critique another research design (or designs) that you considered, and state your argument as to why this other design (or designs) may not be suitable for researching your topic and/or research problem. (1/2 page) Provide a closing argument that explains how a potential study, based on the research design you have selected, may inform educational practice and/or theory. (1/2 page) Length: at least 3 pages References: Include a minimum of 5 scholarly sources.

Answer Below:

Appropriate Research Design for a Qualitative Study Education is an important aspect of any society. Educational research is a priority in order to broaden the boundaries of knowledge, as education is a vital part of any civilization. Education research is critical to the advancement of pedagogy, and it also acts as a catalyst for policy formulation and learning programs. Educational research is a spectrum that focuses on a variety of sectors of knowledge, which is multi-dimensional, implying that it draws on various disciplines. As a result, the conclusions of this study are diverse and can be limited by the research participants' and research environment's features (Brown et al., 2014). Educational research provides a pragmatic approach to address the various challenges and issues in education. The main goal of educational research is to add to the current body of knowledge by addressing various pedagogical issues and enhancing teaching and learning practices. Researchers in education are also looking for answers to concerns like learner motivation, development, and classroom management. COVID-19 has changed a lot of dynamics on the functioning of the world, especially in the field of education. Online education for children has become one of the most critical trends in imparting education to children. At the same time, another impending imperative question is about the traditional approach of teaching that involves a personal interaction among the teachers and children. The research topic for this assignment would be to understand the benefit of using a blended approach to learning. It can help and enhance the overall development of learning and improve their overall performance in school and other facets in life. Since educational research is diverse, it can incorporate numerous forms and approaches to defining its processes. While opting for a research method to understand the tool of the blended approach in education, the appropriate design method that would provide better insights about the issue would be to employ an action research method to get effective results (Cummings et al., 2017). The action research method is the appropriate method to evaluate the effectiveness of the blended approach in the school as this method is a sort of qualitative research in which the researcher uses it to solve a specific problem that has evolved over some time. It's a method for bridging the gap between educational theory and professional practice by enhancing current processes" (Bloomberg & Volpe, 2008). This form of study aids the researcher in improving present procedures and is used to investigate problems. The primary goal of action research is to learn by doing to enhance one's personal or professional life. It allows researchers to suggest acceptable courses of action and investigate the repercussions of such courses of action. Furthermore, situation-based research is essential in problem-solving and interacts with individuals or groups who share a common interest. This method is the apt method for the research method since it is dynamic, cyclical, and participatory, to foster greater understanding of a current situation and inform future action with conceptualizing and semantic segmentation of the problem and continuing through many interventions and evaluations, the research process action research projects can help to improve and advocate for the requirement of a change. Another research method that I considered for doing the qualitative analysis was the grounded theory, as I felt it would fulfill the requirements of the research issue. A Grounded theory could have been a feasible approach to understanding the role of blended teaching methods in the school. There is little research or information about this phenomenon of interest. The purpose of grounded theory is to inductively generate an approach that is grounded in, or emerges from, the data. This approach can provide deep, and brief insights about blended teaching methods in schools as the theory can be defined as "an explanatory scheme comprising a set of concepts related to each other through logical patterns of connectivity" (Bloomberg & Volpe, 2008). The main aim of grounded theory is to move beyond description and create or find a view of a process, an action, or an interaction based on the perspectives of the research participants. However, while considering this method to analyze the research issue related to education, I figured it out that grounded theory may not provide me with the best solutions to the research problem as this method can be more a sophisticated approach for the policy or social practices. In contrast, it may not provide good evidence to change the educational system (Belgrave & Seide, 2019). Incorporating digital technology in classrooms and the traditional classroom teaching methods can enhance the learning experience among the students and strengthen lessons. It can also empower the students to move at their own pace. Employing an action research qualitative method tool to understand students' and teachers' responses on spreading this approach in the school can prove to be effective in providing a real-life scenario whether this approach would be helpful for children in meeting their demands. It is a dual process where both teachers and children are equal stakeholders of the issue. If it is a challenge for teachers to incorporate new skill sets into their personality of being computer educated and addressing the virtual issues related to teaching. At the same time, it will be for children to make amendments in their learning methodology to understand the concepts without being in a physical contact with the teachers or knowing the actual responses pertaining to certain issues. This research method would emphasize that "theory and practice" should be connected, leading to action, specifically social improvement. Action research talks about collaborative and democratic practices, and in the field of education research, collaborative and democratic practices would provide engaging solutions to intricate research issues. With a critical focus on influencing and impacting change processes, this methodology would help foster a deeper understanding of the research issue. References: Belgrave, L. L., & Seide, K. (2019).
