Question.4092 - Discussion Board Thirteen: Help Board This week's discussion I am calling a help board. I like to use these help boards because students have worked well in them in the past and really like them. Post about something that either seems tough to understand and/or something that was particularly helpful you did to do this week's reading or assignment. Here is where you want to ask questions of each other if you have any. Your post must still be around 75 words, and you need to respond to at least two other people. I will be grading your responses. If you find that you are all wondering about something and want to verify your conclusions with me, then email me and ask me to look at the thread. Make sure to cite and reference your sources using a standard reference and citation style.
Answer Below:
I found the concept of R-squared a bit tricky this week, especially when considering how much of the variation in income is unexplained by the model. The idea that a higher R-squared value means better model fit makes sense, but I’m still unsure how much weight to give to the unexplained variance. I particularly found understanding how to interpret the coefficients in the context of the model quite difficult. I found it helpful to break down each variable's impact individually and see how they interact in the full equation. References Babbie, E., Wagner, W. E., III, & Zaino, J. (2022).
