Gerald Wilson was a composer, arranger, orchestrator, educator and energizer. In my opinion, democratic leadership applies to Gerald Wilson as he has composed songs according the ability of performers. More importantly, he appreciates other similar musicians which all defines the attributes of democratic leadership. How was he shaped by his times? Wilson has his own band. He has performed in many small arrangements and then was famous in the period of world war (around 1940). Later he joined Dizzy Gillespie band in 1950 who was actually his school friend. Gerald was invited many different places to play and even he lived for short period in some states. As we can listen to his story, he was inspired by many musicians and also met them after he entered the music industry. What career experiences contributed to his growth as an artist? One important career experience that contributed his career growth as an artis was when he was introduced to television and movies. In what ways is he an innovator? He is called as an innovator because he used to compose music on his own and that too as per the performers ability to perform. He has a creative mind because he had multiple skills like composer, arranger, orchestrator, educator and energizer. What unique skills does he have? Some of the unique skills he has are, dancing, composing, arranging, orchestrator, educating and he is an energizer. How does he inspire others? He inspires others by explaining them how talented they are and how valuable their skills are. According to Walker, even his music inspired many youths. What influence does musical leadership have on our society as a whole? Like any other art, music influences society, culturally, emotionally, and morally. The music industry has been motivating people with their beats and rhythm, bringing awareness on many issues with their lyrical messages. Can you think of any other influential musicians?
