Hello Class! Ethical egoism is a theory that supports self-interest as a moral foundation. According to utilitarianism, the actions are moral if they are not harmful and beneficial for the most. Altruism theory is concerned about the happiness and well-being of human lives. Those who practice altruism, it means they are living a good quality of life. Personal care comes in the first preference according to ethical egoism theory because when we are well, then only we can take good care of others. Utilitarianism is exactly opposite to egoism theory because they have beliefs exactly opposite. Soldiers can be given as a great example of utilitarianism because they work and fight for others' safety. Any actions with the self-interest of a person like voluntarily helping people can be a good example of ethical egoism.
