Question.192 - For this week's activity, begin by opening and reviewing the resource entitled “Guidelines for Reading and Understanding Literature,” linked in week 1. Once you’ve read through the resource, go to “Step III: What Literary Techniques are Used in this Work?” and choose any one of the major elements to discuss (choose from plot, character, setting, point-of-view, images and symbols, or style and language), then answer at least four of the bullet-points under your chosen element. (For example, if you choose "Character," you'd go down to #2, Character, and here you'd answer any four of the six bullet points underneath that element). Lafederia Hicks Professor Lee Ogletree English Literature 202 January 14 2022 Tartuffes Play Tartuffe is a play for the modern era related to a religious hypocrite.?Dorine is one of the sharpest and intelligent characters among all characters in the play. She is a servant. She has effective strength and is never frightened to speak up against Tartuffe. She has a quick understanding of manipulated works of Tartuffe. She contrives plans against intentions of Orgon's for Mariane. She provides a foundation against Tartuffe. She also counsel and help other family members to find, understand and balance their passions to get the best results. Another most awful character is Madame Pernelle. She is tricked and misled by Tartuffe. She is rude, bossy towards her grandchildren and daughter-in-law. According to Moliere, religion should never be forced on someone but should be of inner peace, joy, and love. He tried to bring the Christian and the pagan together. He also tried to bring the importance of human factors in his work. He strongly gives belief and credence that religion and society should not be mixed (Moli?re).? Madame Pernelle is totally deceive by Tartuffe. It is a stubborn old woman. She is ignoring Tartuffes reality and truth. Instead she is rude towards her own grandchildren. She feels herself like a high class woman. She is insulting others and always trying to defend own superiority. Hi Dana, Nice post. I completely agree with you. The play is not regarding anti-religious. Moliere believed that religion should never be forced on anyone. A person should accept it from their own belief, inner peace, and joy. Orgon is a central character. He comes under the influence of Tartuffe, trying to mix the social status by inviting him.More Articles From Literature
