Answer Below:
The goal of the civil rights movements that emerged in the 50s was to achieve equality of rights for black African Americans. The general motive of the movement was to receive equal voting rights for the black people which would allow them to cast votes without any restrictions (History, 2023). The prevailing practices that discriminated against and segregated people on the basis of skin color were protested in the movement. Equal rights in terms of equal access to public facilities, jobs, and housing were demanded by the black-skinned African people who were living in America in the said movements. The movement had its roots in the discrimination that was practiced against the enslaved Africans along with their descendants with the objective of resisting racial oppression along with the abolition of the institution of slavery. The main aim of the movement was to promote social justice for individuals having black skin color. The African American activities adopted different strategies namely nonviolence, direct action, non-resistance along with civil disobedience for undertaking the civil rights movements (Pineda, 2021). The other strategies that were adopted in the movement included boycotts and litigations (Franklin, 2021). These objectives were aimed at achieving the equal civil rights of Black Africans.
