About Us Take My Online Class

Question.3508 - For this speech, each student will choose a personal experience or belief to share with the audience, developing it appropriately through their introduction, body and conclusion. The purpose of the speech is to share and to inspire, to evoke feelings and provoke thought in their audience. (Think: You are sharing something that you feel strongly about. Why is it important to you? Why is it relevant and/or important to our lives? What should we walk away with?)

Answer Below:

Good morning everyone, Today I want to talk about environmental responsibility since its a topic that has grown very personal to me in the last several years. Climate change, pollution, and deforestation are not simply global issues, we keep on reading about them in the news, but we are still too distant from there. Ive come to understand that the actual shift, the real accountability, begins with each of us, in our day to day activities, and starts with the little things. That is the core of my beliefs. Allow me to take you back to the time when I had a paradigm shift on environmental responsibility. I helped in a beach cleanup event a few years ago as a volunteer. We cleaned up trash like plastic bottles, old fishing nets, and countless cigarette butts throughout the day. Though I recall being proud to see the beach gradually get cleaner again, I wasnt quite comfortable with it. It seemed as though 10 more bags of rubbish were just waiting to wash ashore for every bag we managed to gather up. That day, I understood that our daily actions affect the environment just as much as large corporations or distant policies. Like mine, every item I picked up had been in someone elses hands. I started to doubt my own routines. How much plastic was I discarding? How much was I squandering in energy? It dawned on me that although blaming governments or industries is simple, I was not exempt from responsibility. This was a change of perspective that stuck with me ever since. This gets me to the essence of my beliefs, which are that seemingly insignificant, daily actions may greatly impact our environment. Its not about making big, immediate changes or showing off. It involves making deliberate decisions each and every day. These tiny efforts add up, whether recycling, minimizing the use of single-use plastic, or conserving water. I feel that a small effort from all of us might have a bigger impact and lead to greater changes. I know for a fact that this goes beyond wishful thinking. There is evidence to support this. In their paper published in 2019, Is It Too Late For Growth? Juliet Schor and Andrew Jorgenson contended that although systematic reform is necessary, individual behavioral changes are equally vital for reducing environmental impact. They emphasize how individual decisions, like cutting back on trash, conserving energy, and choosing sustainable items, may impact the environment, but consecutively less. I want?to apply this idea in my own life as it has significantly altered my perspective. I am not saying that it is a simple process. Its difficult to change behaviors, specifically when it seems like there is too much for us to do on our own. Some days, I feel I can accomplish nothing but at that point, I am reminded of something I once heard: We dont need a small group of people to execute zero-waste flawlessly. Millions of people must strive to achieve this goal. I want all of you to keep this in mind as I wrap up: Being environmentally conscious doesnt need big gestures or impeccable behavior. It calls for each of us to take tiny, deliberate steps to keep moving forward because at the end, our future generation will be shaped by these little deeds done over time. Thank you.
