DISCUSSION 01.2: COMMUNICATION SUCCESS Communication is influenced by cultural values and beliefs (Chaika, 2020). I have experienced difficulty in communicating with a person from a high context culture. In such a culture there is more focus on the interpersonal relations, non-verbal communication cues, body language etc. I faced difficulty in understanding messages of this person as there were lesser verbal cues and less words. I do believe that communication difficulties are related to cultural differences. It is because there are cultural norms and beliefs which are reflected in the communication. I believe that my difficulties were rooted in the cultural differences as I have never interacted with a person from a high context culture. Tips from this video are helpful. For instance, the speaker describes the differences in various cultures in communication. For instance, in some place people make use of more facts while in other place people ask for families.
