Answer Below:

Prompt: Two ways to ensure that we are assessing young DLLs in culturally and linguistically responsive ways Language training for children depends on various factors like social background, cultural activities, etc. Training a new language along with the native language is different for each child. For non-English speakers, some child learns the English language from their family, and some get the opportunity to learn at the preschool stages, hence assessing diverse preschool children needs to focus on the cultural practice of the child (Pen˜a, & Halle, 2022). Focus on both language Testing cultural influence is a way of assessing a dual language learner, it depends on the development of a child, such assessment follows how a child responds to an interaction, or how a child can follow a direction. Such test helps to determine how the learning process should carry on, for example, some children may understand the direction of describing an object, but they cannot able to describe it because they have no idea of proper words, from this it can be said that the children have a lack of vocabularies, whereas if the children cannot able to understand the direction, the children have a lack of understanding (Pen˜a, & Halle, 2022). To improve the assessment process of children it is important to teach them both languages well during the assessment period. By assessing both languages, it would be easy to assess which areas the children lack. Assessing both languages may help to distinguish how the children can grasp their mother tongue and a different language. Assessment instrument 3 Children who speak a different language at home and school may have a problem using words, for example children know some words in the English language as they speak it in school but it is possible that they may not know the same word in their mother tongue, hence assessment process is quite difficult for dual language learners, to deal with such issue it is important to be focused while an assessment instrument (Pen˜a, & Halle, 2022). 4 Reference D.
