Answer Below:
a) One more example apart from Vincent Chin’s death which is unique to Asian American experience are the ‘Bellingham riots’ that took place in 1907. It occurred because of the rhetoric comments by the natives of Asiatic Exclusion League that spurred agitation in the white workers who started searching for Indian immigrants particularly the Sikh men from Punjab. The Indians were pulled out of their bunkers, at night, by the rioters. Their bunkhouses were set on fire, their possessions were conquered, and finally they got beaten. They, however, got protection from the local police and got themselves placed in Bellingham City Hall and jail as well. This was the first incident happened at large scale and reported as ‘Anti-South Asian violence’ in United States that fuelled series of attacks against Asian Americans that extended through Canadian West Coast (Waxman and Cachero, 2021). b) Another example was the death of Chinese American Ronnie that happened after 10 years of the incident of Vincent Chin in 1992. The context of this event can be explained as the continuous discrimination practices followed in America that made Asian Americans to revolt. c) In contemporary America, the Asian American movement is still being carried out by few organizations that is approaching young Asian Americans to find their place in US as it is their own country. Suggestions are being made to include case study of Vincent Chin in textbooks of children so that new reforms to racial laws, violence laws, and communities can be introduced as criminals are being acquitted just through probation on killing Asian Americans.
