Question.1114 - This discussion assignment gives you the opportunity to engage in creative problem-solving. In this Module, we learned that most Americans have unmet legal needs. The term "justice gap" describes this difference between legal needs of lower-income Americans and available legal resources. In an adversarial legal system, a justice gap raises serious concerns about the fairness of the legal system. What programs or policies do you think will close the "justice gap"? Use concrete examples when responding to this prompt.

Answer Below:

There is a vast justice gap between the available resources and the civil legal services for addressing the needs of the ones who need them. More than two-thirds of the respondents from lower middle-class families are not able to afford a lawyer. Research has found that alignment between the two justice gaps leads to the justice gap (Child, 2016). Only a few percent of households are able to find help or are able to get a private attorney when needed. The justice gap is growing, and it is unfair and unacceptable. All income levels experience problems arising due to the justice gap. The people experience some kind of legal problem, and they do not receive adequate help. It is important to take some urgent measures by considering a regulatory form in the legal profession. People are facing a lot of issues, and they are struggling to resolve their problems, whether it is a divorce case or a conviction case.  The gap has some real consequences and it also happens to put the judges in real trouble with such a complicated system. There should be strict policies for regulatory reform allowing for shared ownership between the other professionals, having licenses, and the lawyers.    References Child, R. (2016).
