The movie Bruce Almighty provided me a diverse perspective to the purpose with which we are born on this earth. The film showed the way our actions affect those around us. The film also made us realize that while we are constantly blaming the god and our destiny for any negative event that we experience, there is a much broader meaning attached to it that only comes to the forefront when see things in a retrospective. While the movie provided me with many positive perspectives to life, it also made me realize the way women are depicted in the media as well generally perceived in the outer world. The movie showed women as an object of sexual desires, and presented them only to please men or be at their mercy. The lead role played by Jim Carrey is shown as objectifying women and after he gets divine powers, he misuses the same to satisfy his fantasies. In one the scene he uses his power to fly the skirt of a woman walking on the streets. These depictions show the way women are exploited and are merely the object of sexual fantasies for men. Furthermore, the lead actor is also shown lusting for his contemporary female news presenter and The movie also shows the lead actress Jennifer Anniston at the mercy of the lead actor and is constantly waiting for him to mend his ways. The lead actor Bruce Nolan is busy fulfilling his own dreams and does not pay heeds to what his girlfriend wants. He even almost ends up cheating on her and hurting her feelings. The movie shows that women are more vulnerable than men and tend to be emotional fools when it comes to relationships. The film also depicts the vulnerability of humans and the way we think selfishness with no regards to our surroundings and people. The way Bruce Nolan is concerned about his own needs than the repercussion of the same shows the selfish traits of the humans. We seldom think from the shoes of the person and is only concerned about our needs.
