Find out if you will write a FOR or AGAINST evaluation.  This will be set in the People tab under this film's name. Write your evaluation of the film by choosing three points why you liked or disliked the film, choose from the following: Make sure each point is in its own paragraph.  Theoretically. Aesthetically. Thematically. Artistically. Politically Or any other points of view. If you can't find points you did not like then write 3 points about what would have made it better. Support your likes and dislikes with examples and/or quotes from the film and explain why. “I like it“or “I didn’t like it” is not enough. Be respectful and mindful. Choose your words carefully and remember that it is okay to be debatable but not argumentative. If you disagree with anything in a film, make sure you research, and fact check your information before making any claims. Once you are done with your post, if your post was a (FOR) then find 2 posts that are(AGAINST) and comment on them.  And vice versa, if you are an (AGAINST) find 2 posts that are (FOR) and comment on them.  AGAIN…I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY DISRESPECT, BULLYING OR IGNORANCE. Answer Below:

Hi, everyone! Assessing the movie, thematically - I would like to give emphasis to how the storyline circles around resilience and emerging out of hardship; it implies there is a life out there apart from struggle, particularly from the angle of ordinary people who are vulnerable to threats anytime from the war, and struggling for resources. This depiction can be seen when Suzu, the protagonist, embodies resilience as she navigates through her struggles. Adding to the wartime threats in Japan, she tries to find moments of beauty and joy that show hope and perseverance in the face of adversity. In terms of aesthetics, I believe the illustrations with the color palate they've used make it a vibrant animation film, as the intricate details of the landscapes to the subtle nuances of the characters' expressions, which can be seen when Suzu sits by the window, sketching the world outside as cherry blossoms fall gently around her. Considering politics, the film's depiction of the daily lives of ordinary people who had no part in starting the war, the cost at which they suffer is unbearable, with the loss of loved ones showcasing the consequences of war - the protagonist Suzu's experience itself serves as an example to raise aware of the loss ordinary people might face during a war, and need for compassion during wartime, it encourages viewers to reflect on the realities of war and its long-lasting effects on individuals and communities.
