Answer Below:
The Arab and Middle Eastern immigrants have a huge disadvantage post 9/11 owing to the discrimination meted out to Muslims. I feel it is really unfair to treat all the Islamic immigrants in a discriminated manner and accusing them of being associated with terrorism. I guess this aspect is a huge hindrance to their successful settlement into United States of America. There are also judiciary prejudice for the Muslim immigrants and numerous petty crimes reported against this community for their alleged association with terrorism. I enjoyed going through your presentation and believe that you did a very good job in the comparison between the two immigrants’ groups. An advantage that Arab Muslim immigrants have is their strong family ties. They are relatively more collectivistic culture compared to their Caribbean immigrants. The strong family ties provide the much-needed stability to them in an unknown country. The strong educational background gives them the edge over other immigrants as they land up with better jobs and employment avenues. The ethnic group comprising Caribbean immigrants are mainly Cuban, Jamaican, Antiguan, Dominican, Bahaman, Haitian amongst others. On the other hand, the Arab and Middle Eastern immigrants comprise Lebanese, Egyptian, Syrian, Palestinian, Jordanian, Moroccan, Iraqi amongst others. The Arab Muslim immigrants have an advantage over their Caribbean counterparts as they have better higher education, affluent financial background and stronger family ties. This ethnic group is also more likely to land with better job opportunities because of their educational qualifications and financial status.More Articles From Political Science
